Why choose ELC Bristol?
- Established in 1969, ELC Bristol is a family run school with experienced, qualified staff dedicated to helping students at all times.
- The school appeals to motivated adult individuals, typically in the 18 - 30 age group. We do not accept large groups, juniors or part-time students.
- There is an excellent mix of nationalities with around 180 students from more than 35 different countries studying in the school at the same time.
- Bristol is a major university city. There are more than 50,000 English students studying here, so there is plenty of student life! Bristol is particularly well known for its vibrant music scene.
- Our students can use the University Students' Union facilities and they can join the university's clubs and societies. This is the perfect way to make English friends.
- Only 90 minutes west of London, Bristol is one of Britain's major cities. It is a lively, exciting city and has all the attractions of London and yet in Bristol, you can walk from your accommodation to the school, to theatres, concert halls, pubs, restaurants and clubs.
- Bristol is very popular with English people yet it is hardly known overseas. Consequently, there are relatively few foreigners in Bristol. This means it is easier for our students to meet English people and participate in our way of life . It is also easier for us to find warm caring homestay families, most of whom live within walking distance of the school.
- Bristol is a prosperous city with low unemployment and it is not difficult for our students to find part-time and voluntary work. If you have a student visa you are allowed to work up to 20 hours per week. There are no restrictions on EU students.
